Thank you for visiting. Maithri values your concern for the distressed individuals who may be in danger of taking their own lives. Along with you, Maithri believes that suicidal individuals can be helped and brought back to active life - through understanding and acceptance. Maithri strives to reverse the mounting suicide-rate of Kerala, offering its services free-of-cost to anyone who is in need of it, on all days of the year. Your donation towards Maithri is a great encouragement to suicide prevention in Kerala. The Charter followed by Maithri informs prospective donors what they are invited to support.

Maithri's expenditure includes amounts required to meet the functioning expenses of Maithri Befriending Centre, Kochi and also to conduct outreach programmes along the length and breadth of Kerala. The core-activities of Maithri are taken care of by Volunteers, who contribute their time & services. However, recurring expenses like those of the building-rent, phones, publicity material and stationery have to be raised out of contributions from generous persons like you. Annual expenses for Maithri's functioning come to approximately Rs.80,000/- per year.

Donations are accepted in the form of Demand Drafts or Cheques, made in favour of  "Maithri Foundation Trust", payable at Ernakulam. Maithri is a registered charitable trust. Donations made towards it are exempt from Income Tax in India under 80G of Income Tax Act, 1961 .
